Plain pen device IQOS in Suva: the best shortlist
Plain in Suva: 9 units tested over 6 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Fiji.
Stock, batch codes and the dispatch window
We run plain the same way in Suva: same pen device, same 6 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
Plain in a pen device is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In Suva the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
If you only read one line: the pen device you buy decides how long plain tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a plain pen device really costs in Suva
Plain in Suva reaches the shelf in pen device formats, and the best ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
How we tested plain in a pen device
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Fiji, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a pen device arrives sealed but wrong.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Batch code and production date, so a plain bottle turned in 6 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where plain goes wrong
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long plain in Suva survives.
- Ignoring the batch date on a pen device and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Treating the advertised FJ$62 entry kit as the real cost when refills run FJ$2.32 per 10 ml.
The rules that apply here
Fiji restricts imports of nicotine products under its customs framework. Shipping of nicotine to Fiji runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
Packaging for plain in Fiji must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
