Plain mesh tank IQOS in Suva: the deals shortlist
Plain in Suva: 20 units tested over 5 weeks, mesh tank formats, priced per 10 ml for Fiji.
What plain costs in Suva
We run plain the same way in Suva: same mesh tank, same 5 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
Plain prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Suva that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within FJ$1.74 per 10 ml.
The short version: plain in Suva works if the mesh tank, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a plain mesh tank really costs in Suva
The honest read on plain: 20 units through the same routine over 5 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
How we tested plain in a mesh tank
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Fiji, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Stock depth: 20 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Batch code and production date, so a plain bottle turned in 5 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Coil type inside the mesh tank, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 6–12 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
Where plain goes wrong
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long plain in Suva survives.
- Treating the advertised FJ$66 entry kit as the real cost when refills run FJ$1.74 per 10 ml.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
The rules that apply here
Fiji restricts imports of nicotine products under its customs framework. Shipping of nicotine to Fiji runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
Packaging for plain in Fiji must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
