Coffee pen device IQOS in Suva: the flat shortlist
Coffee in Suva: 17 units tested over 4 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Fiji.
Coil life, liquid cost and the coffee habit
A coffee pen device from the flat-rate options in Fiji costs about FJ$1.82 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
We run coffee the same way in Suva: same pen device, same 4 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
Below is the run we did for this search: 17 units, pen device, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a coffee pen device really costs in Suva
Coffee sounds like one product. It is not: a pen device running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
How we tested coffee in a pen device
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Fiji, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 6–12 business days.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Fiji, not a suggestion.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a pen device arrives sealed but wrong.
- Coil type inside the pen device, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where coffee goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why coffee tastes flat after two days.
- Buying the cheapest pen device available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Mixing coffee with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
